Brief Description

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has invited online applications for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025. This test is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in secondary (Paper-I) and higher secondary (Paper-II) classes in Bihar government schools.

Single Paper (Gen/EWS/BC/EBC) ₹ 960/-
Single Paper (SC/ST/PwBD) ₹ 760/-
Both Papers (Gen/EWS/BC/EBC) ₹ 1440/-
Both Papers (SC/ST/PwBD) ₹ 1140/-
  • Fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit Card.

Age Limit (as on 01/08/2025)

Minimum age for all candidates is 21 years. The maximum age limits are as follows:

  • General (Male): 37 Years
  • General (Female): 40 Years
  • BC / EBC (Male & Female): 40 Years
  • SC / ST (Male & Female): 42 Years

Subjects Covered (Paper I & II)

Paper I (Secondary)

  • Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Maithili, Sanskrit, Arabic, Farsi, Bhojpuri, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Physical Education, Music, Fine Arts, Dance, and Special School Teacher.

Paper II (Higher Secondary)

  • Hindi, Urdu, English, Sanskrit, Bengali, Maithili, Magahi, Arabic, Farsi, Bhojpuri, Pali, Prakrit, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Philosophy, Psychology, Home Science, Botany, Commerce, Computer Science, Agriculture, and Music.

Eligibility Criteria

For Paper I (Secondary)

  • Bachelor's Degree in the related subject with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed. degree. OR
  • BA.Ed / BSc.Ed four-year degree.
  • (Subject-specific combinations and alternative qualifications apply).

For Paper II (Higher Secondary)

  • Master's Degree (Post Graduation) in the related subject with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed. degree. OR
  • BA.Ed / BSc.Ed four-year degree.
  • (B.Ed. is not mandatory for Computer Science subject).

Unit I: Subject Specific100 Marks

  • Questions will be based on the graduate-level syllabus for Paper I and post-graduate level for Paper II for the chosen subject.

Unit II: Art of Teaching & Other Skills50 Marks

  • This section will cover topics related to teaching and learning, general knowledge, environmental science, mathematical aptitude, and logical reasoning.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the official BSEB STET website: https://secondary.biharboardonline.com/.
  2. Complete the registration process with a valid mobile number and email ID.
  3. Log in and fill out the detailed application form with personal and educational details.
  4. Upload a recent color photograph and signature as per the specified dimensions.
  5. Upload all required documents (educational certificates, caste, residence, etc.).
  6. Pay the examination fee online and submit the final form before 19/09/2025.
