Brief Description

East Coast Railway invites online applications from eligible and active members of Bharat Scouts & Guides for recruitment against the Scouts and Guides Quota for the year 2025-26. Vacancies are available for Group 'C' and erstwhile Group 'D' posts. The selection process will be based on a written test and an assessment of scouting skills and achievements.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Group 'C': 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate.
  • Erstwhile Group 'D': 10th Standard pass OR ITI or equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

Scouting/Guiding Qualification

  • A President's Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder.
  • Should have been an active member of a Scouts Organization for the last 5 years.
  • Should have attended two events at the National level OR two events at the State level OR one National and one State event.

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)

  • Group 'C': 18 to 30 years.
  • Erstwhile Group 'D': 18 to 33 years.
  • Age relaxation is applicable for OBC (3 years) and SC/ST (5 years) candidates.

Selection Process & Syllabus

Selection Method (100 Marks)

  • The selection is based on a two-stage process: a written test and a marks-on-certificates assessment.
  • Written Test (60 Marks): An objective type test of 60 minutes covering Scouts & Guides organization, General Knowledge, and post-specific subjects.
  • Marks on Certificates (40 Marks): Marks awarded for participation in events (10), awards received (10), and specialized courses/experience (20).

Written Test Syllabus

  • History of Scouting/Guiding; Law & Promise; Organization of Bharat Scouts & Guides.
  • **For Group 'C':** General Knowledge, Arithmetic, and topics related to the 12th standard syllabus.
  • **For Group 'D':** General Knowledge, Arithmetic, and topics related to the 10th standard syllabus.
