Brief Description

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) invites online applications from eligible candidates for the Assistant Teacher, Trained Graduate Grade (Male/Female Branch) Examination - 2025. This recruitment drive aims to fill 7466 vacancies in Government Colleges and 81 vacancies in schools under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. The selection will be based on a Preliminary Examination followed by a Main (Written) Examination.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Essential: A Graduation degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university.
  • Essential: A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from a course recognized by the NCTE.
  • For Special Education Teachers: Graduation in the concerned subject plus a Diploma/B.Ed. in Special Education recognized by the RCI is required.
  • Note: Subject-specific qualifications vary. Please refer to the detailed notification for precise requirements for each post.

Age Limit (as on 01/07/2025)

  • Minimum Age: 21 years.
  • Maximum Age: 40 years.
  • Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/Skilled Players/State Govt. Employees of U.P. (5 years) and Persons with Disabilities (15 years) as per rules.

Selection Process

Two-Stage Examination

  • Preliminary Examination: An objective-type test consisting of a single paper with 150 questions (30 from General Studies and 120 from the main optional subject). The total marks will be 300, and the duration is 2 hours. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd (0.33) for each wrong answer.
  • Main (Written) Examination: Candidates who qualify the prelims will appear for the main exam, which will be of a conventional/descriptive type. Details will be provided to qualified candidates.
  • Final selection will be based on the total marks obtained in the Main (Written) Examination.

  1. It is mandatory for candidates to first complete the One Time Registration (O.T.R.) process on the UPPSC OTR website: https://otr.pariksha.nic.in.
  2. After obtaining the O.T.R. number, apply online through the UPPSC official website: https://uppsc.up.nic.in.
  3. Authenticate with your O.T.R. number to auto-fill your personal details.
  4. Fill in the required details related to the essential qualifications for the post.
  5. Proceed to pay the examination fee online.
  6. Finally, submit the application form and take a printout for your records. Do not send any hard copy to the commission at this stage.

1. Do I need to register for O.T.R. before applying?

Yes, One Time Registration (O.T.R.) is mandatory. You must obtain an O.T.R. number from `https://otr.pariksha.nic.in` at least 72 hours before you plan to submit your final application.

2. What is the selection process for the Assistant Teacher post?

The selection is a two-stage process. First, there is a Preliminary Examination (objective type). Candidates who qualify will then be eligible to appear for the Main (Written) Examination, which is descriptive. Final selection is based on the marks from the Main Exam.

3. Is there negative marking in the Preliminary Exam?

Yes, there will be a penalty for wrong answers. One-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

4. I am not a resident of Uttar Pradesh. Can I claim reservation benefits?

No, the benefit of reservation or age relaxation is not admissible for candidates who are not permanent residents of U.P. Such candidates will be treated as General (Unreserved) category.

5. I am in the final year of my B.Ed. Can I apply?

No, candidates who are still appearing for the examination of the essential qualification are not eligible. You must possess all required qualifications by the last date for the receipt of online applications.

6. Do I need to send the hard copy of my application to the UPPSC office?

Not at the preliminary stage. You only need to send the hard copy of your online application and self-attested copies of all certificates after you have qualified the Preliminary exam and are applying for the Main Examination.
