Brief Description

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a massive recruitment notification (No. 01/2025) on behalf of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS). This drive aims to fill 14,967 vacancies for various Teaching posts (Principal, PGT, TGT, PRT) and Non-Teaching posts (JSA, SSA, Steno, MTS, etc.). Candidates can apply online from 14th November 2025 to 4th December 2025 through the official portal.

Application Fee

The application fee varies by post. Candidates must also pay a processing fee.

  • Assistant Commissioner, Principal, Vice Principal: Exam Fee ₹2300 + Processing ₹500 = ₹2800/-
  • PGT, TGT, PRT, Finance Officer, Admin Officer: Exam Fee ₹1500 + Processing ₹500 = ₹2000/-
  • JSA, SSA, Steno, MTS, Lab Attendant: Exam Fee ₹1200 + Processing ₹500 = ₹1700/-
  • SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen: Exam Fee Nil + Processing ₹500 = ₹500/-

Payment Mode: Online (Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking).

Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2025

The selection process involves a Two-Tier examination. Tier-1 is a Qualifying Objective Test, and Tier-2 is Subject Knowledge (Objective + Descriptive).

Important Note on Syllabus:

  • Tier-1 Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Tier-2 (Subject Knowledge): Candidates shortlisted from Tier-1 will appear for Tier-2. It consists of 60 Objective Questions (60 Marks) and 10 Descriptive Questions (40 Marks).
  • * Regional Languages include Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odiya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

1. What is the last date to apply for KVS & NVS Recruitment 2025?

The last date to submit the online application is 04 December 2025.

2. Is CTET mandatory for KVS/NVS Teachers?

Yes, CTET Paper I is mandatory for PRT posts and CTET Paper II is mandatory for TGT posts. For PGT, CTET is not required.

3. Can I apply for both KVS and NVS posts?

Yes, candidates can apply for posts in both organizations. However, you must submit a single application for as many posts as you wish to apply and pay the requisite fee separately for each post.

4. What is the age limit for PRT and TGT?

The upper age limit is 30 years for PRT and 35 years for TGT. Age relaxation applies for reserved categories (e.g., 10 years relaxation for Women applying for teaching posts).

5. Is there negative marking in the exam?

Yes, in Tier-1, 1/3rd mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. In Tier-2 objective questions, 1/4th mark will be deducted.

6. What is the application fee for SC/ST candidates?

SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from the Examination Fee but must pay a Processing Fee of ₹500/-.

7. Will the exam be online or offline?

The notification mentions OMR (Objective) Mode for Tier-1 and a combination of Pen-Paper and OMR for Tier-2.

8. Is B.Ed allowed for PRT posts?

As per the notification, candidates with B.Ed can apply for PRT only if they have a 4-year B.El.Ed or similar. The notification primarily asks for D.El.Ed (Diploma) or B.El.Ed for PRT.

9. Can I change my exam center later?

No, the examination city/centre once allotted shall not be changed under any circumstances.
