Brief Description (MHA Intelligence Bureau IB MTS)
The Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has invited online applications from eligible Indian nationals for the post of Multi-Tasking Staff (General) [MTS(G)] in various Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux (SIBs) across India. There are a total of 362 vacancies available. Candidates who have passed Matriculation (10th Class) can apply online via Sangam Result from 22nd November 2025 to 14th December 2025.

The fee consists of two components: Examination Fee (₹100) and Recruitment Processing Charges (₹550).

Exam Pattern & Selection Process
Tier-I: Online Exam (Objective)
- General Awareness: 40 Questions (40 Marks)
- Quantitative Aptitude: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
- Numerical/Logical Ability: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
- English Language: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
- Total Duration: 1 Hour
Tier-II: Descriptive Test
- Subject: English Language and Comprehension (Basics, Vocabulary, Grammar, Paragraph Writing).
- Marks: 50 Marks
- Duration: 1 Hour
- Note: Tier-II is qualifying in nature (Min 20 Marks required).
How to Apply
- Registration (Step-1): Visit the official website and register with your contact details (Email/Mobile). You will receive a Login ID and Password.
- Fill Application (Step-2): Re-login and fill in personal details, qualification details, and select your category.
- Upload Documents:
- Photograph: Coloured photo (35mm x 45mm), not older than 12 weeks. Light background (White/Grey suggested). Size: 100-200 KB.
- Signature: Black ink on white paper. Size: 80-150 KB.
- Fee Payment: Pay the examination fee online via SBI EPAY LITE (Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, etc.).
- Final Submit: Preview your application carefully before final submission. Once submitted, no changes can be made.

1. What is the last date to apply for IB MTS 2025?
The last date to submit the online application is 14th December 2025.
2. Can I apply for more than one SIB?
No. A candidate can apply for only ONE SIB. The SIB once opted cannot be changed.
3. Is Domicile Certificate mandatory?
Yes, possession of a valid Domicile Certificate of the State against which the candidate has applied is mandatory on the closing date.
4. What is the salary of IB MTS?
The post carries a pay scale of Level-1 (₹18,000 - ₹56,900). Additionally, a Special Security Allowance @ 20% of basic pay is provided.
5. Is there negative marking in the exam?
Yes, there is a negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer in Tier-I.
6. Can I change my SIB choice after submission?
No, the SIB once opted will NOT be changed under any circumstances.
7. Is there a Tier-2 exam for MTS?
Yes, there is a Tier-2 Descriptive Test on English Language and Comprehension, which is qualifying in nature.
8. Can final year students apply?
No, the candidate must possess the essential qualification (Matriculation) on or before the closing date, i.e., 14.12.2025. The final result must be out by then.
9. What are the requirements for the photograph?
The photo must be coloured, size 35mm x 45mm, with a light background (white/grey suggested), and file size between 100-200 KB.
10. Is there an interview for the MTS post?
No, there is no interview. The final merit list is prepared based on Tier-I performance, provided the candidate qualifies in Tier-II.
