Brief Description (NTA JEE Main 2026 Session-I)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited online applications for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2026 - Session 1 (January 2026). This exam is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E./B.Tech) at NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs (Paper 1), and for admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses (Paper 2). JEE (Main) is also the eligibility test for JEE (Advanced) for admission to IITs. Applications must be submitted online through the official NTA JEE Main website.

Section A

  • This section will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).

Section B

How to Apply (NTA JEE Main 2026 Session-I)

  1. Candidates can apply for JEE (Main) 2026 Session 1 through "Online" mode only from the official website https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/.
  2. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. Multiple applications will lead to rejection.
  3. This application is for Session 1 (January 2026) only. A separate opportunity will be given to apply for Session 2 (April 2026) later.
  4. Candidates must strictly follow the instructions given in the Information Bulletin.
  5. Candidates must ensure the e-mail address and Mobile Number provided are their own or their parents', as all communication will be sent to them.
  6. Pay the application fee online and take a printout of the confirmation page.

1. What is the last date to apply for JEE Main 2026 Session 1?

The last date to submit the online application is 27th November 2025 (up to 09:00 PM).

2. When will the Session 1 exam be held?

The exam for Session 1 is scheduled to be conducted between 21st January and 30th January 2026.

3. Can I apply for both Session 1 and Session 2 right now?

No. This application window is only for Session 1 (January 2026). A separate opportunity will be given later to apply for Session 2 (April 2026).

4. Can I submit more than one application form?

No. Candidates are allowed to fill only one Application Form. Strict action will be taken against those who fill more than one.

5. Is there negative marking in the exam?

Yes. As per the notification, there will be negative marking for incorrect answers in both Section A (MCQs) and Section B (Numerical Value questions).
